Is the person injured?

Medical Attention Required
Seek medical help immediately. Ensure the person receives appropriate medical care before proceeding.
Is immediate police attendance required?
Is the incident so serious that the police need to attend right away?
Emergency Police Response
Call 999 and ask for the police. Report the incident immediately and follow their instructions.
Is it safe to speak with the adult?
Assess whether it is currently safe to have a conversation with the adult about the incident.
Safeguarding Procedure
Follow the Ash u3a safeguarding procedure. Speak with the adult, listen carefully, and follow the established process.
What does the adult want to happen?
Consider the adult's wishes regarding how this incident should be handled.
Refer to Surrey Safeguarding
Refer the incident to the Surrey Safeguarding Adults Board. Ensure all relevant details are included in the referral.
Record the Details
Record the details of the report. Document everything accurately, including dates, times, and what was observed or disclosed.
Forward to the Committee
Forward the report to the Ash u3a committee. Provide all available information so the committee can make an informed decision.
